Rehabilitation works on road eases transport for Flax residents

Residents of Flax area in Kaptagat ward, Uasin Gishu County are happy after Kapsundei-Flax road was paved, and resultantly eased transportation. The one and half -kilometre road was pathetic, and almost impassable during rainy reasons.  But currently, transportation of farm produce to markets by locals is less costly, after the rehabilitation of the road.

Action started after members of Kapsundei and Daystar Youth Groups wrote a letter to the area MCA Jonathan Ngetich, and the area (Ainabkoi) MP, Samuel Chepkongá in July 2017, in which they raised concern about the deplorable state of the road, which had made transportation of their farm produce expensive. During rainy seasons, the road would be rendered impassable and residents incurred extra cost of transporting farm produce to the main road, by hiring porters to ferry the commodities on motorcyclesRead More
